Ripples glisten on the surface of your friend Stacy's swimming pool in the sweltering midsummer afternoon. Over the last few months you've grown aware of her mounting affection for you—feelings beyond mere friendship—but your interests lie elsewhere.

As you step out through her back door, glancing around in search of the focus of your own growing infatuation, a blazing beam of sunlight pierces the clouds directly overhead like a luminescent spear. The air crackles with anticipation and your heart seems to stop as if waiting for a reason to beat.

Then it finds one:

Stacy's mom emerges at the water's edge, rising like some sort of thalassic goddess as if directly from the pages of the Greek mythology class you took last semester. Merely seeing her sets every nerve in your body aglow, but can you ever win her heart? There's only one way to find out.
